General Purpose

Sonny's BBQ is seeking an innovative and passionate CRM Strategist to develop and drive execution of the Sonny's CRM program. You will play a key role in spearheading the CRM strategy and roadmap, guiding 'Q Crew members through their digital consumer journey, delivering targeted and personalized content at the right time. You will develop and optimize new CRM strategies based on guest behavior and analytics.

Essential Duties (may include, but not limited to):

  • Develops and implements CRM strategy and roadmap to drive customer loyalty and lifetime value.
  • Maximize CRM platform utility and value, optimizing the customer lifecycle, evolving our strategic approach.
  • Develop targeting, segmentation, and testing strategies for all channels of CRM to ensure an effective test and learn approach.
  • Partner with in-house creative team on content production and maintenance of CRM campaigns, using results data to continually refine and make them as effective as possible.
  • Drive continued subscriber and community growth through lead-generation programs and churn- mitigation strategies.
  • Manage email and SMS calendars for the brand, partnering with digital advertising team on content, strategy, and messaging approach.
  • Compile, analyze, and report on CRM insights, ROI, KPIs and make recommendations as needed.
  • Conduct and facilitate cross-functional discovery sessions to identify and prioritize key business value drivers and the data available to determine baseline and future state measurement.
  • Partner with key internal stakeholders and external vendors in the CRM space.
  • Support franchisees in adoption of CRM program, local marketing initiatives, and general support as needed.
  • Research trends, opportunities, competitors, and other factors that affect CRM.
  • Stay informed about the CRM/inbound industry developments and utilize these developments for CRM initiatives and growth.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or other related field of study.
  • 2-4 years' experience working in CRM and digital.
  • Experience in driving cross-channel CRM strategies and analytics required.
  • Knowledge of HTML and email templates required.
  • Digital project management experience preferred.
  • Retail, restaurant, food, or beverage industry experience preferred.
  • Experience performing tasks found in the Essential Duties above.
  • Embrace a "test and optimize" mentality to uncover potential performance accelerators.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of Sonny's Brand and the restaurant industry.
  • Familiarity in engagement and retention marketing throughout different portions of the lifecycle
  • Experience informing audience segments by leveraging 1st and 3rd party data
  • Understanding of audience principals, and related personalization techniques and tools
  • Ability to synthesize and interpreting data and customer insights into successful marketing strategies
  • Strategy and analytics skills, with an advanced understanding of success metrics
  • Experience developing, prioritizing, objectively managing roadmaps and optimization efforts, balancing both business and user KPIs.
  • Strong creative sensibilities and an aptitude to always look at marcomm through the eyes of the customer
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Enthusiastic, passionate, and creative; thrives on thinking outside of the box to create new best-in-class member experiences
  • Loyalty and retention marketing experience in a membership model business
  • Hands-on experience with digital marketing tools, such as Adobe Analytics or Test & Target
  • Knowledge of mobile app eco-system, hardware, and operating systems in addition to app specific engagement platform
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Good problem-solving skills and logical decision making.
  • Strong conceptual, critical, and creative thinking skills.
  • Strong listening and reasoning skills.
  • Strong skill in reading, writing, math, analyzing and interpreting general business documents.
